For many years the cruise industry trumpeted their voyages as being a cheap way to travel because everything was included in the price of the ticket. Their marketing has been so effective that most of us still believe this to be true. But it isn’t.
As a rule of thumb, the price of your cruise includes accommodation, meals and some entertainment, but there are exceptions. On a P&O cruise, for example, if you miss your scheduled dinner and have to eat elsewhere on the ship – you pay. Such activities as wine tasting and bingo will also cost you extra so make sure your budget allows for those glasses of wine and bingo cards. Laundry charges are also steep.
